Synopsis...well above normal temperatures through Friday. Cooler
this weekend although temperatures remain above normal. Dry
conditions are expected through the weekend, with a chance of
precipitation returning early next week.

Short through Thursday. Temperatures remain well
above normal across northern and central Nevada today as high pressure
gradually builds up from the southwest. Weak trough energy pushing
through the Pacific northwest however will ride over the top of the
ridge resulting in mid to high clouds passing over the Great
Basin. As the passing trough energy just to the north of Nevada today
exits east tonight the ridge over California/Nevada will become more highly
amplified. Most valley locations will reach the mid to upper 60s
Wednesday and Thursday with continued dry conditions. Winds will
remain relatively light through Thursday.

Long term...Thursday night through Monday. Dry conditions
are likely to continue through Friday. Then there is some
indication of a shortwave trough penetrating the Pacific Ridge
enough to instigate some shower activity across northern Nevada
as early as Friday night. This is a timing change from previous
runs and model agreement is not in synch yet but the upper level
flow is becoming more disturbed. The Pacific high will yield to a
series of upper low pressure troughs in the coming days. This
first weak wave will be quick and will be well to the east of
Nevada by late Saturday. High temperatures will generally be in
the 50s. Low temperatures will generally range from the mid 20s to
the mid 30s.

Aviation...VFR conditions with light winds and intervals of high
and a few mid clouds will continue through midweek as a ridge of
high pressure rebuilds into Nevada.

Lkn watches/warnings/advisories...none.
