Short term... (through late Thursday night)

A dry cold front will slide across the region this evening with
enough cloud cover so that temps only drop into the mid 20s
overnight. Then a high pressure ridge will approach the area with
light winds and some clouds, though decreasing Thursday night as
the ridge axis gets into the County Warning Area.


Long term... (friday through next wednesday)

As the ridge moves off to the east and northeast, southerly winds
will return for the weekend and bring a warming trend to the area
through the weekend and into the beginning of next week. Dry
weather is expected Friday through Tuesday as well. A couple of
troughs will quickly move across the northern plains the beginning
of next week, but the middle of next week, Wednesday, is when the
better chances of precip returns to the the form of
rain. Temps will warm through the period as well, with mid 40s
expected Saturday and sunday; reaching into the 50s by Monday and

VFR conditions and dry weather are expected at the taf sites for
much of the valid period. The exception to the VFR will be after
cold frontal passage late tonight and Thursday morning, where an area of
MVFR cigs is expected to move in and affect the taf sites for
several hours, clearing out from west to east in the afternoon.
Otherwise, light S surface winds will veer northwest behind front.
