... For the Osage river near Schell City...
* at 9:45 am Tuesday the stage was 31.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 32.1 feet by
tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage early
Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 32.0 feet... flood waters impact all of the low lying
areas in the Schell Osage conservation area as well as several
County roads west of Schell City.

* Forecast... the river has crested and will continue to fall to below
flood stage by tomorrow late morning.
* Impact... at 43.0 feet... minor flooding affects low lying areas
near the gage site and farmland along the river.

Heat Advisory
Issued: 2:34 PM CDT Aug. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM CDT this evening...

* temperature... heat index values will range from 105 to 110
degrees this afternoon and early evening.

* Impacts... hot weather will increase the risk of heat related
illness, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The very
Young, the elderly, and those without access to air
conditioning will be especially vulnerable.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
