Issued: 3:20 PM CDT Aug. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM CDT this evening...

* heat index values... 105 to 109 degrees.

* Timing... the hottest conditions are expected between 4 and 7
PM. The heat index will fall below 105 after 9 PM.

* Impacts... the heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
