... High rip current risk remains in effect through late Thursday
night...
... High surf advisory remains in effect from 6 am Tuesday to 6 am
AST Wednesday...

* waves and surf... seas up to 8 feet breaking waves up to 13
feet.

* Location... from the north central to northeast beaches of
Puerto Rico and Culebra.

* Timing... high surf from 6 am AST Tuesday morning through 6 am
AST Wednesday. High rip current risk until at least Friday.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry even the strongest of
swimmers out to sea. Large breaking waves that can knock
persons and animals off of rocks and jetties and into the sea
and cause coastal erosion.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.
