Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:33 AM EDT Oct. 14, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 7 am to 11 am EDT this
morning...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a coastal
flood advisory, which is in effect from 7 am to 11 am EDT this
morning.

* Locations... Beaufort, coastal Colleton and Charleston.

* Coastal flood impacts... up to one half foot of inundation above
ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and
tidal waterways (7.1 to 7.4 feet mean lower low water in the
Charleston harbor). This could result in some roads becoming
impassable, especially in downtown Charleston.

* Timing... high tide will occur around 8:51 am at Charleston Harbor
and 9:58 am at Beaufort. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to
2 hours before and after high tide.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
