The Flood Warning continues for
the Firesteel creek near Mount Vernon.
* Until Friday evening.
* At 08pm Sunday the stage was 12.42 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.00 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Thursday September 19.
* At stages near 12.0 feet... the water reaches the bottom of the
bridge on 404th Avenue.

the James River at Mitchell.
* Until further notice.
* At 07pm Sunday the stage was 24.10 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.00 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 23.4 feet
by 7 am Tuesday.
* At stages near 24.0 feet... Highway 38 east of Mitchell begins
flooding. 416th Avenue and 257th street are flooded.

* Local emergency managers continue to report widespread flooding
issues due to heavy rainfall Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Several primary and secondary roads continue to experience
flooding, with widespread ponding in low areas. Travel may be
difficult to impossible in some locations.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mitchell, Parkston, Lake Andes, Pickstown, Wagner, Platte, Armour,
Tripp, Alexandria, Burke, Corsica, Mount Vernon, Ethan, Stickney,
Delmont, Geddes, Kaylor, Dimock, Milltown and Herrick.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
