Special Statement
Issued: 7:25 PM EST Dec. 15, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Black ice expected across portions of the north country
tonight...

Sharply falling temperatures combined with late afternoon snow
squalls have combined to produce a flash freeze on many roads
across the region this evening per social media reports. Continued
gusty winds and drier air moving into the region later tonight
will eventually help to dry out the pavement, but until then
untreated surfaces will become extremely slippery and offer little
or no traction. For those traveling this evening, use caution and
reduce speeds as black ice can be difficult to spot at night.
