SPECIAL UPDATE Weakening Katia, TS Maria, TS Nate 9/7/11

By: CybrTeddy, 8:08 PM GMT on September 07, 2011

Good afternoon and welcome to my SPECIAL TROPICAL WEATHER UPDATE for Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 and what a day it is folks! It has been 6 years since we have seen a season like this, so far 2011 is on course to become the 2nd most active hurricane season ever recorded. Most of our storms, with the exception of Irene and Katia, have been weak tropical storms but that looks like it will change in the next few days. We first have Hurricane Katia, which has weakened from an impressive Category 4 hurricane to a moderate Category 1 hurricane. This can be thanks due to some intense dry air, prompting an EWRC. We also have newly formed Tropical Storm Maria off Africa, and Tropical Storm Nate in the Gulf. Nate is probably our biggest problem. This is my last tropical weather update for a while, as my schedule cannot permit it anymore. I'll be back with updates by September 20th.
