2016 Winter Solstice Stonehenge Celebrations - Megalithomania
Published on Dec 21, 2016
Happy Winter Solstice Megalithomaniacs! Subscribe at: https://www.youtube.com/MegalithomaniaUK. http://www.megalithomania.co.uk - A Winter Solstice visit on December 21st 2016 to Stonehenge to meet up with Druids, Pagans, and around 5000 revellers to celebrate the turning of the seasons. Presented by Hugh Newman with Interviews with Arch-Druid Rollo Maughfling, Tim Daw and Sid Hope.

Something brought up was that a train tunnel would be going in nearby. It should line up with where the sunsets on Winter Solstice when viewed from in Stonehenge. Even though it should be out of sight, the light pollution from it is anticipated to lessen the view.

Opened a shop of sorts, "Skyepony Goods". It includes a few images of my art and weather events from this year, a place to find Hurricane Hermine Pajamas or a puzzle of my art..

I Survived Joplin Tornado, 2011.
This is a great book for your tornado chasing young boy to teenager..mine gave it 5 stars. It's from the perspective of an 11 year old boy. Has some great deep thoughts and torn preteen emotions around this event and his older brother serving as a NAVY SEAL. The details of the storm is accurate. The characters are fictional but built on real people and experiences of the day. It's 89 pages plus a few for timeline, about the author, the book and I Survived Series.

A curfew will be in affect from 10pm til 6am Wednesday and Thursday night. Delivery trucks for food service and such are allowed in from both East Parkway and The Spur checkpoint. Gatlinburg plans to reopen to the public and for business on Friday December 9th at 7am.. All major road should be open then.

Gatlinburg Reopens Gatlinburg Fire

Gatlinburg Recovery Begins As Rains Calm Southeast Fires

By: Skyepony, 6:01 AM GMT on December 04, 2016

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Southeast Fires
The rain is helping the continuing firefight going on in the Southeast. The fires for now are expected to spread minimally for at least the next three days, mostly smolder. The coming rain isn't expected to quench the ~16" deficit of rain, but it is giving the firefighters the upper hand on several of the existing fires across the region and giving them a chance to sharpen tools, complete maintenance, restore trails and remove trees.
The Boteler, Maple Springs & Nantahala Fires (Western North Carolina) are in a much better situation with command being handed over, and some firefighters going home or to other fires. Camp Branch Fire (Macon County) is 85% contained. Dick’s Creek, Boteler, Maple Springs and Tellico are being patrolled & are 100% contained. There are still trail and road closures in these areas. More here.
Chimney Tops 2 Fire (Tennessee, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area)
An interactive map has been put out there, The Sevier County Structure Statues Map. It's not complete yet and already shows 1331 residential structures destroyed. Officials are beginning to rebuild the community. A Job Bank is being established. Info for collecting unemployment and for property damage as well as volunteering, drivers license and other can be found here. The Ogle Cabin was unscathed..
Chimney Tops 2 Fire: Size: 17,109 acre Containment: 25% Start Date: November 23
Cobbly Nob Fire: Size: 750 acres Containment: 13% Start Date: November 28
Trail and road closures in the Great Smokey Mountains. People are reminded to bring valid forms of identification showing their name and address of their residence or business inside Gatlinburg. Officials will verify renters and lease Holders as needed. Here is how to help the evacuees and those that lost their home. The dead and missing continue to be identified. The mother and two daughters of the Reed family were confirmed to have been caught in the fire and perished.
Trees downed from the high winds are hampering containment of the fires in this area and is a current focus in the fight. Air support is also helping.
Rabun County Courthouse 25 Courthouse Square, #105 Clayton, GA
Closures and more here.
Pinnacle Fire (South Carolina)
The rains have been heavy and helpful in fighting this fire. Threat to structures have been greatly reduced.
10,645 acres 92% Containment
Table Rock Park has reopened. Some trail closures here.
