Live in Richmond VA. I'm a recent high school graduate who is looking to pursue a career in meteorology. Winter storms and the tropics fascinate me.

Here's a reminder, blog party on the night of new years eve. Post comments for the party on this entry. Couldn't change my email adress or my handle. Just whenever I post comments on blogs call me (VA)snowfreak. For those of you wholive in the southern states region, it's very fustrating that we haven't seen a flake, texas had a snowstorm not too long ago and they're wayyyyyyy down south and up here, not a speck. It's certainly strange. I'm hoping for a first snow fall around in the middle of Jan. You never know. Out of the warm weather there could be a giant blizzard. Or there couldn't be a speck. there are some years that VA doesn't see any snow! Maybe a flurry but that's it. Maybe this year we wouldn't see a flake although we're supposed to get 16" of snow with 2 snowstorms that should bring us 6" each.
Happy new year.

My new handle will be snowfreak because I'd give anything to have a blizzard. Post comments for the blog party on the last blog I posted before this one.
Happy new year!

Merry (late) Christmas guys, for those who are traveling over the holidays or coming home, i hope that you guys will have safe travels. Since my other blog party wasn't that big and I wasn't around, I dicided to host another blog party on the night of new years eve. Hopefully this will run well with me being around. Like i said, i want to know what it feels like to get 100+ comments on my blog. I came home today and sadly, while in Staunton( which is in the Shenendoah Valley) it did not snow like I wanted it to. Now hopefully by around in the middle of Jan I should start seeing my first snowfall.
Happy Holidays and a happy new year.

Santa was traveling at a very amazing speed. He actully as soon as he was finished with South America, he did the Carribean islands, then he went up to FL ( the main peninsulia not the western tip) and was traveling up the east coast. He came to my house at around 11:00. I actully heard him and his reindeer clattering on the roof. I heard on the radio last night that a policeman said that there was a traffic stop because they saw Santa's sliegh. The officer reported that he saw a red nose, which was from rudolph. It was probably in the richmond area but not confirmed to norad. they spotted him far away when he was in the atlantic. Later that night at around 11:30 in fredricksburg there was another santa sighting and was reported to norad. The broadcaster on the radio practicly freaked out when the officer told her on the phone that he saw santa. This was an amazing year for santa and will be an unforgettable Christmas. By the way, what LuvzLabz told me on my other blog about donner the reindeer not being able to make it, she was wrong ( no offense Luvzlabz) he actully got better. If you want to see the videos and sightings of santa across the us, here's a link. I can't get it because I was modifying it. I'll post a link on a comment on my blog.
Wish y'all around the us and around the world a very merry Christmas.

Prepare the grills to fire up lot and lots of meat! Tomorrow starting at around lunchtime is when the blog party should start. Type in lyrics for Christmas songs, post images on meat. ( that makes me starve!) I want to know what it feels like to get 100 comments on my blog.
Wish you a Merry Christmas!

I looked up one of my local news stations at thier weather center, and pumps, midatlanticstorm, or other members that live in central VA, there is, in fact a chance of seeing winter weather around Christmas. But there is a better chance of having a green Christmas instead of a white christmas or a white christmas eve. But that doesn't mean that we won't see ANY winter weather. I don't know the how much accumulation will there be on the ground, but I do know that generally, Va will get 14-23", depending on El Nino. CBS 6 Stormtracker

Where's the snow?LOL! Well the pacific northwest storm is heading eastward. So it's POSSIBLE that it could reach the east coast and the NE. We'll just have to wait and see.

Hey guys! Just thought I'd give you a little pop quiz
For Richmond VA and it's surrounding areas, when was the last time we got snow on Christmas? ( Hint: not any other type of precipitation, just snow)
One year we got an ice storm on christmas, when was it? ( Hint; it's in the 1990's)
When the east coast had the "Superstorm of 93" on march 13th, what event happened on that very same day.
Hint; It was in the late 18's)

Great news guys! another front similar to the one that just swept through in MT and it's bringing more snow! The low will head ESE and for those who live in VA it should get colder through next week and will continue for the rest of December and into the peak of winter. Guess what, for those of you who live in NC, KY TN WV or VA, ( includes the NE ) will get winter weather. Just go to weather.com and look under current surface.
