Special Weather Statement
Issued: Environment Canada
Special Weather Statement issued by Environment. 07:28 AM EST Friday 06 December 2019.
Lake effect snow squalls tonight.

A brief period of snow squalls and reduced visibility is expected later this afternoon as a cold front moves through the area.

Lake effect snow squalls are then expected to become organized this evening and continue into Saturday morning.

Under the heaviest snow squalls, visibilities will be significantly reduced and snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm will be possible.

###

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
