Lakeshore Flood Advisory
Issued: 9:45 AM CDT Oct. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Lakeshore flood advisory remains in effect until 10 PM CDT
this evening...

* winds... southeast winds of 20 to 30 mph will have gusts as high
as 40 to 45 mph for a few hours through around noon. The winds
will turn to the south later this afternoon and diminish
somewhat.

* Waves... building to 8 to 12 feet at the Lakeshore by early
afternoon, then subsiding this evening as winds become south to
southwest and diminish.

* Impacts... minor flooding of beaches, along with roads and
structures in low lying areas near the Lakeshore, are
possible. The high waves may cause Bluff erosion along Lake
Michigan. The primary period of strong winds and high waves
will be between 11 am and 5 PM CDT today.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore flood advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate flooding of low areas along the Lakeshore.
