Issued: 8:48 PM CDT Oct. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Lakeshore flood advisory remains in effect from 10 am to 10 PM
CDT Monday...

* winds... southeast winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph Monday
morning, becoming southwest later Monday afternoon and
decreasing to 15 to 25 mph.

* Waves... waves building to 8 to 10 feet, decreasing Monday
evening due to winds shifting offshore and diminishing.

* Impacts... minor flooding of beaches, along with roads and
structures in low lying areas near the Lakeshore, are
possible. The combination of gusty southeast winds and high
wave action will occur from mid morning Monday through Monday
evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore flood advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate flooding of low areas along the Lakeshore.

The dense fog advisory is now in effect until 4 am CDT Monday.

* Timing... this evening into the overnight hours.

* Visibility... 1/4 mile or less, especially near Lake Michigan.

* Impacts... visibility will vary widely over the lake counties.
This can be especially dangerous for motorists unaware of the
changing conditions. Slow down and allow extra time to reach
your destination.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
