Lakeshore Flood Advisory
Issued: 12:22 PM CDT Oct. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Lakeshore flood advisory remains in effect until 10 PM CDT
this evening...

* locations... door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc counties.

* Lakeshore flooding... the combination of strong east to
southeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 mph and high
wave action will lead to flooding of low lying areas along the
Lake Michigan shoreline.

* Timing... through 10 PM this evening.

* Impacts... some low lying areas along the immediate shoreline
and near river mouths will likely experience minor flooding.
High wave action may spill over on to roads and parking lots
near the immediate coast. Beach erosion is also likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and waves
will generate an increased chance of beach erosion and flooding
of low areas along the Lakeshore. People should stay off piers
and jetties to avoid being swept into the lake.

* what... southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts over 40 mph.

* Where... Door County.

* When... from 10 am this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* Impacts... gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.

* Additional details... the strongest winds are expected to be
over the northern portion of the County, especially near
deaths door.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

afternoon...

East to southeast winds will remain gusty through the end of the
afternoon. Isolated strong gusts in the 40 to 45 mph range will be
possible, mainly within the heaviest shower activity. Motorists
should use caution this afternoon, especially on north-south
orientated highways.
