Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 4:01 AM PST Nov. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 7 am PST Thursday for
low humidity and strong wind for fire weather zones 213, 215,
216, 217, 263, 264, 266, 268, and 279...

* affected areas... fire weather zones 213, 215, 216, 217, 263,
264, 266, 268, and 279. The northern and western Sacramento
Valley, northeastern Sierra foothills, as well as the coastal
range and foothills, all north of I-80.

* Wind... north to northeast wind 15 to 35 mph with gusts 35 to
55 mph, locally higher in canyons and exposed ridges.

* Humidity... daytime minimum humidities in the teens and 20s
with moderate to poor overnight recoveries in the 30s and 40s.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
