Issued: 3:44 AM PST Dec. 7, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon PST Sunday
above 5500 feet...

* changes... none.

* What... heavy, wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1
to 2 feet above 5500 feet west of Highway 395. Wind gusts up
to 40 to 45 mph possible for lower elevations especially along
the Highway 395 corridor.

* Where... Lassen-eastern Plumas-eastern Sierra counties
including areas around Portola and Susanville.

* When... through noon Sunday. Particularly dangerous travel
conditions could occur late this afternoon into evening when
high intensity snowfall rates and thundersnow are forecast.

* Impacts... travel could be very difficult to impossible,
especially over the Sierra passes. Gusty winds and heavy, wet
snow could bring down tree branches.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Avoid travel if possible, you could be stuck in your vehicle for
many hours. If you must travel, prepare for long delays and carry
an emergency kit with extra food, water and clothing. If you stay
home, have a backup plan in case of power outages.
