Issued: 11:36 AM EST Dec. 10, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 5 PM this
afternoon to 1 am EST Thursday...

* what... lake effect snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 4 to 7 inches in the most persistent lake
snows across the Chautauqua ridge. Winds gusting as high as 40
mph will produce blowing snow and very poor visibility at
times.

* Where... Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

* When... from 5 PM this afternoon to 1 am EST Thursday. Lake
effect snow will develop late this afternoon and continue
tonight. Lake effect snow will move north of the area early
Wednesday morning through early afternoon before moving back
south into the southern tier late Wednesday afternoon.

* Impacts... travel could be very difficult for brief periods of
time. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce
visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening
commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If
traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing Road conditions and
visibilities.
