Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:15 AM CDT Sep. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Saturday evening through late
Sunday night...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for all counties along and west of the
Illinois River.

* From Saturday evening through Sunday night

* widespread rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will occur
across the Illinois River valley this weekend... with the
heaviest rain falling Saturday night through Sunday. Storm total
rain amounts of 2.50 to 3 inches are anticipated.

* Excessive rainfall rates could lead to flash flooding of many
low-lying and flood prone areas. In addition, smaller creeks
and streams could potentially spill out of their banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
