... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 1 PM CDT this afternoon
through Sunday morning...

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Kansas and southwest
Nebraska, including the following areas, in Kansas, Decatur,
Gove, Graham, Logan, Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan, Thomas, and
Wichita. In southwest Nebraska, Hitchcock and Red Willow.

* From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Sunday morning

* heavy rainfall expected with thunderstorms moving through the
watch area this afternoon and tonight.

* Some creeks and streams are running high due to recent rainfall.
Additional rainfall may cause some of them to leave their banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that additional rainfall may result in
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to move quickly to higher
ground should flash flooding occur.
