Special Statement
Issued: 4:58 AM EDT Aug. 18, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Patchy dense fog developing across central North Carolina...

Pockets of dense fog have developed early this morning, reducing
the visibility to just a couple hundred feet in spots. The dense
fog may become more widespread around daybreak. This may prompt
the issuance of a dense fog advisory.

Motorists need to be on the lookout for sudden changes in
visibility early this morning. Visibility can drop quickly over
short distances, especially near rivers, lakes and other low-lying
areas.
