Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 11:26 AM CDT Aug. 22, 2019 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for southern
York... southeastern Hamilton and northwestern Fillmore counties...

As of 1115 am CDT, emergency management and trained spotters
reported continued minor flooding along the West Fork of the big
Blue River, especially from the Stockham area downstream into the
McCool Junction area. Water is mainly impacting fields and pastures
adjacent to the river, but at least a few rural roads are likely
being impacted as well.

Any ongoing flooding issues along the West Fork big blue are
expected to gradually improve from west-to-east as the day wears on,
and the crest moves downstream. Emergency management reported that
water levels in the Stockham area have dropped roughly 2 feet from
what they were Wednesday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
